The tension builds steadily, and the short chapters make it hard to put down. Some characters made frustrating choices (which honestly added to the realism), and the ending packed a solid punch. Thriller with lots of unforeseeable twists
I really enjoyed this book and found it to be a page turner. I wish I had read it before I watched the series on TV. The book is actually better, but when you’ve watched the series first, you do tend to compare. For the people who have watched the series, the series is quite different from the book. I don’t know why the author let NBC change the story as much as they did. Basically the only thing the same is the premise – cute kid kidnapped by evil nanny. I do recommend this book and look forward to reading more from Andrea Mara.

Watch The Series Instead
The TV series is incredible. The book is a disappointment. Trying to hard to make twists without explaining the plot clearly. The first half of the book was boring to me, and the change in POV throughout was highly distracting. The ending is good if you’re willing to wait. I would highly advise watching the series.

A good read
I had to read this after binging the tv show. So I had an idea of what was going to happen, which I normally hate!I will say that I did enjoy the book! I was hooked and even though I knew the jist of the story I didnât want to put it down. It was a one sit read/listen for me.This one had many twists and turns. When you think you have something figured outâ¦you find out youâre wrong! I did find that the ending was sudden I was in the grove of listening and the bam itâs the end!I do have to say I think the tv show was better than the book! I donât think I have ever said that before. Maybe I feel that way because I saw the show first. I just thought that the book was a bit rushed in areas.With that said. I do still think it was a great read and Iâm glad I read it! I definitely recommend!
