Powerful Perspective Shift
This book offers a refreshing and grounding perspective on thoughts and self-awareness. It helps you recognize that not every thought deserves your attention or belief, which can be incredibly freeing. The writing is clear, relatable, and easy to digest while still being deeply impactful. Itâs a great read for anyone working on mindset, mental clarity, or personal growth. Definitely a book worth revisiting.

Practical, easy to read
This is a great starter or secondary book to help you begin seeing life differently. It is practical, easy to read and combines wisdom with knowing and doing. As a 27yr psychotherapist, I highly recommend this book as a self care or working with individuals with an Anxiety diagnosis.

Easy Read to Mental Freedom!
Easy read, don’t hesitate to buy to gain or regain peace in your life, in order to open the path you want for your life. Like the author Joseph Nguyen said in the book, the concept of not thinking is simple, but not easy to do as humans. He says, thoughts create, thinking destroys. So true!I also appreciate the summary at the end and a guide with steps to non-thinking.I believe this book found me. It was only a week after a breakup. I didn’t hesitate to buy the book because I knew I was about to go on a journey of questioning everything that went wrong. I am so glad I followed my intuition. Not to say the breakup wasn’t painful, but I managed it different and didn’t get too far down in sadness and perpetual toxic thinking, how it can be after a breakup. And this was a 2nd chance after being apart over a decade. So I thought this was the one for me, finally. If nothing else, the author’s explanation made me realize just how much our negative thoughts take you down a rabbit hole of pain, blame, shame, and just unnecessary suffering. When you consciously realize it, you know it makes no sense and you truly can end it. However, most of us just keep feeding the negative thoughts. Easier said than done, but truly a simple concept we each have control over and should not allow our minds/thoughts to control us.With that said, I think this book is a natural transition to meditation too, because if you can turn off negative or aimless thinking, you open your mind to endless positivity and clarity your mind can take you. I noticed this about myself…so it validated what was already happening with me. My mind is most clear in the shower, and I would have so many ideas or clarifying thoughts come to me at that time. And to have more of that, outside of the shower, I must catch and end the over-thinking and negative thinking.Towards the end of this book, I just broke down in tears, because the way Joseph described how we must have faith in the unknown, take a leap of faith and be courageous to get what we want–that spoke volumes to me, because it was my thoughts that robbed me of my faith and courage and why I feel I’m not where I’m supposed to be in life. But shifting my thoughts will make space for the possibilities and what I want in my life.So yes, like he said in the beginning, I am different after reading the book. Different in a positive way, trusting the universe and my non-thinking.Thank you, Joseph Nguyen!

It was very compelling
“Don’t Believe Everything You Think” by Joseph NguyenA clear, concise primer on mindfulness and mental freedom. Its short chapters make profound concepts highly accessible, perfect for beginners seeking relief from negative thought patterns. However, it stays at an introductory level, offering little new for readers already versed in this philosophy. A quick, impactful read for a specific audience.

A new outlook
I found this book really insightful. As someone who struggle from anxiety and can get bogged down by the weight of a thousand thoughts. This book helped me self evaluate and find the small habits of thinking I do on a daily basis and evaluate if they affect my life for better or worse.Great work and worth the read.

Iâm in awe, and not even half way yet
For the first time in my 29 years, I finally felt what itâs like to pause the overthinkingâreal heart relief, real control, and real understanding of my own state.Iâm not usually into reading. Iâve started a book or two before and never pushed myself to finish them, but this one was completely different. I found myself thinking better thoughts, manifesting, and truly experiencing every word.Being able to relate to so many pages, knowing Iâm not alone in what Iâm going through or how Iâm feelingâit was genuinely calming and brought me so much peace.Iâm really happy I got the chance to read this book, and hopefully the next one I choose will be just as meaningful.

Zen-like Platitudes
I got two good ideas from this book: 1) The root cause of our suffering is our own thinking, and 2) One of the best things you can do to help you on your journey to stop overthinking is to keep a daily journal to track your progress. The rest? Zen-like gobbledygook. As hard as I tried to understand this book and enjoy it, I couldn’t. It was a smattering of obvious platitudes, with no coherent structure or flow whatsoever.I was disappointed that Deepak Chopra and Simon Sinek gave it glowing testimonials. Those and the Amazon description are why I bought it.If you’re a skimmer and breeze through books in 15-20 minutes to extract a couple good ideas, buy this one.Otherwise, skip it. You got the gist of it from my first paragraph above.

This book is really good. It helps you to understand how your thinking works, gives you insight into nothing is wrong with you, is just thinking is the root cause of all our suffering. Thanks Joseph Nguyen.

This is one of the simplest yet most insightful book I have read on this subject. The other books were difficult to comprehend and required a lot more patient reading. Joseph Nguyen has used simple language and has not wasted words. The book is short, sweet and to the point.

I have read my self help and spiritual books but this book has definitely been one of the best books I have read. I haven’t put it down.So much wisdom that seems simple but I am sure the majority of people don’t do including myself. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for transformation. I’m already feel physically and mentally lighter just reading and applying what I learned over the last three days. I can’t wait to see what’s I’m store for myself with this new knowledgeAmazing book and I don’t think anyone would ever regret reading this book.
