A baking book that actually teaches you what youâre doing!
After struggling with dense loaves and pastry experiments gone wrong, this book has been an incredible guide for me. It doesnât just give you recipesâit actually explains the why behind each step, which makes all the difference when youâre trying to improve your baking skills. The sourdough section alone is worth the purchase. The starter method is incredibly clear, and mine finally came out strong and active instead of the usual sluggish mess. The hydration ratio explanations, proofing guidance, and scoring tips helped me achieve loaves that looked (and tasted!) like something from a real bakery. What I didnât expect was how solid the yeast-bread and pastry chapters would be. The instructions for croissants and puff pastry are detailed without being overwhelming, and the troubleshooting tips saved me from several common mistakes. I also love the inclusion of gluten-free and vegan variationsâitâs rare to find a book that covers so many styles so well.If you want to bake sourdough with confidence, improve your pastries, or simply understand what makes good bread good, this is the guide you need. Thorough, encouraging, and packed with useful insight!!

A great Sourdough bread Bible book!
A great sourdough book full of recipes, education, fun ideas. Highly recommend.

Itâs ok
I received this as a gift. There are a variety of recipes in this book, a lot of which are not sourdough related. Itâs also worth noting that the pictures are black and white.

Surprisingly practical and actually Works!
Iâve bought more bread books and most of them are either too technical or way too basic. The Sourdough Bible strikes the perfect balance. It walks you through each step like you have a baking coach in your kitchenâwhich is exactly what I needed after a dozen failed sourdough attempts. The hydration tips and kneading methods made a noticeable difference in my loaves. My sourdough starter finally stayed alive longer than a week (a miracle in my house), and the croissant section was easier than I expected. I also appreciated the tips on flavoring and storing the breadâit shows the author really thought about what home bakers need.Highly recommend if you’re tired of bread bricks and pastry fails!

33 pages on sourdough.
My fault partially, I shouldâve read more reviews and item description better. There are 33 pages total including sourdough recipes I definitely would not be calling it a âBibleâ . The remaining 83 pages are different pastries using yeast or other leavening.

Black & White throughout, cheap paper, large print, very basic. Way too expensive!

Bought as gift receiver enjoyed and enjoyed the recipes.

To be honest, all of that information can be found on the internet. I was expecting more elaborate explanations and instructions from ‘bible”. It has many recipes, but most of them are not for saurdough, but normal years added bread.

This book is not what I was expecting. Itâs soft cover and only 33 pages out of 116 are sourdough related. The rest are other breads and pastries. However, it does look like a lot of information is covered and the photos ( black and white only) are well done. Overall, I donât know that I would pay $30 for it again. To be fair I may update this after I have read and made a few of the recipes.
