Like case studies from real humans. Love the section on nutrition and the lists of what foods to promote better health are included. Journaling, yoga, meditation and so much more will also help. Technology is discussed throughout as it can help you keep track of things for your journal.There are lots of steps to follow to get back on track again. Meal plans are included at the end also shopping lists (vegan list also)References are included at the end of the book.

What is the vagus nerve anyways?
Iâm a fan of Eden Thayerâs books. She has a very straightforward way of teaching and explaining medical jargon in a clear and simple way. This book explains how your brain, heart, and gut health are all connected and ways to improve the functions of all of them. She explains seven steps to activate the vagus nerve which will then allow you to boost your energy and mood, improve immunity and digestion, and mental and emotional well-being. It includes a 21 day reset plan with food lists and recipes, vagus nerve exercises, case studies, and the science to back everything up. Our gut health can have a huge impact on all other types of health, so working in out microbiome can have huge advantages.

The author talks about a friend who was constantly tired with digestive problems, anxiety, and mood swings, and her doctors couldnât do anything to help her. When she started looking after her gut by taking probiotics, changing her diet to whole foods and less processed rubbish, it had a profound effect on her. This made the author realise the connection between the brain, the heart, and the gut. The Vagus nerve connects these, and this book focuses on a 7-step plan to improve your health, through looking at the body as an interconnected whole and making changes. In a clear and understandable fashion, she explains the complex connections between our brain, gut, and heart.She offers numerous examples of how taking care of our gut can positively impact our health. In one example, Thayer discusses a woman named Marisol who suffered from extreme anxiety for many years with no hope in sight. But after a stomach-focused approach that included probiotics, less processed foods, and an all-around healthier diet, Marisol’s mood stabilized and, “She didn’t just feel better. She also felt more like herself.”I had no idea of the profound connection between the brain, heart and gut. This book. a holistic approach to improved health, certainly enlightened me. Superbly written, well-organized, a must-read road map if you want to improve your health and well-being in ways other than pharmaceuticals.
